The most common reason this happens is that somehow the file where we store the screen layout gets corrupted. The fix is to delete this file then launch PocketBible. The file is stored here:

~/Library/Application Support/com.laridian.PocketBible/layout archive.plist

The ~/Library folder is normally hidden so it's tricky to get there. The easiest way to do it is to go to Finder, select the Go menu, then press the Option key. When you hold down Option you'll see Library revealed in the menu. Select it.

An alternative method to get to the correct Library folder is to go to Finder, select the Go menu, then select Go To Folder. Enter ~/Library and select Go. It's important that you enter the tilde and slash in front of Library or you'll end up in the wrong Library folder.

Once you're in ~/Library, select Application Support, then com.laridian.PocketBible, then locate layout archive.plist, and move it to the trash. Now re-launch PocketBible and it should work better.
